The live brief set by Oxfam was to design an emergency latrine that could be flat packed and flown across the world. I was in a team of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years as well as 2 postgraduates. The focus of our design was having minimal labour to construct on site. We used origami as a space saving solution (so all components fitted on a single pallet) and could be built quickly by 2 people. After presenting our design to Oxfam we won the competition and went on to build a 1:1 prototype they presented at the Wash Cluster Event in Oslo 2014.
